Building on the success of the INTERLINK at YU project-based curriculum and the effectiveness of its program and teachers, the National Information Center (NIC) under Ministry of Interior started a partnership agreement with INTERLINK at YU in 2006 to provide English language training to its employees.
The project served hundreds of the NIC employees and was administered at the NIC premises in Riyadh. The program followed the 8 week system offered to Al Yamamah students. Candidates selected for the program were placement tested and placed in the appropriate levels. Qualified teachers were selected to teach at the NIC premises. Three to four courses were provided every year. At the end of each level, students were granted a completion certificate.
The Project was committed to providing NIC employees with the English language skills that are essential to successfully functioning at their highly sensitive government agency. This was achieved by offering an enriching learning environment that included the implementation of a project based curriculum and use of relevant technologies and innovative teaching methods.
